Yes steel burns plasteel would have higher hp than stone but it is slightly burnable so not a good idea really for walls.

Use the lowest hp stone on the map apart from marble for floors in my case marble has the lowest hp on the map but i have so much sandstone that i use sandstone for floors instead.
